Handmade Cards

After being amazed by the talents of @amymoneysaver on Instagram with her handmade cards I was spurred on to trying to make my own cards to. I think being able to present someone with a card that you have spent time drawing just for them makes it extra special and shows the care that you have put into it.

So far I have only made 2 cards, trying to make them as the occasions arise but my plan is to keep making them and potentially design my own save the date or wedding invitations - love to mention the fact I'm going to be a wife!

First off I made a valentines card for my lovely fiancé featuring a few images that would mean something to both of us. I drew the design in pencil first and then simply went over the lines in a black biro pen. Eventually I decided to leave the card in black and white as I liked the basic and simple look of it - and I didn't want to ruin it by colouring it in 🙈

Here is the final product.... and it thankfully went down really well with him!

Next up - which I have made today, is a birthday card for my brother who is currently studying computer security at university and is going to be 19.. hopefully a clue to that in the card 😛

Again I decided to leave it in black and white, for similar reasons and I actually really like it as it is. I found inspiration for the card from a google image search looking at clipart images - I think these are the easiest to draw personally as someone who cannot draw!

My next plan is to make my own bridesmaid and maid of honour cards, I want to make something different and a bit special, related to each of them but can't find the right inspiration at the moment, if anyone has any tips or ideas please let me know! Also any feedback on the 2 cards I've made so far would be greatly appreciated!!!
