2018 Catch up
Hey hey,
So, my first post of 2018 (in February, I know) but it comes with good news! I was in the process of writing a post in January about the wondrous Christmas gifts my lovely OH had given me mixed in with a review of our lovely winter holiday to Cuba, when he dropped the biggest surprise on me and asked me to be his wife!!! I couldn't be more happier and more surprised and I have to admit, the thought of finishing off my posts went flying straight out of the window.
Upon returning to the UK we rapidly starting coming up with ideas and plans for our big day to come and I have teed with the ideas of keeping a little wedding planner book or a scrap book to try and record the planning process and have something to look back on, as well as all the lovely pictures I'm sure we'll have.
I am yet to find the perfect wedding planner but have seen a lovely rustic scrapbook which I didn't buy at the time and now can't remember where I saw it 😠but might get this one from the Works instead to start the process - and it's only £3 - BARGAIN!!
We haven't really got much of the planning started when you actually begin thinking about it... I know who I want to be my bridesmaids and D has decided who he wants to be his best man, but we are yet to ask them...
We have decided on a theme and colour scheme but I don't want to reveal that just as yet, it could be said to be very corny but we actually really like it and it is so well suited to us that I think it will actually turn out really nice - she hopes!
The big decision we are stumbling on is the venue... the question is whether we have 1 big venue for the ceremony and the reception or if we have a separate ceremony and the reception in another place... and from then where do we have it!
We recently went to a local wedding fair and I have to say it was rather disappointing, we woke early and in a good positive mood, ready for me to get my free goodie bag (a tote bag with a couple of leaflets inside) not sure what I was expecting but it wasn't this... but hey ho, my mood was still up and I was ready to see what my first ever wedding fair had in store for me...
Upon arrival I got gifted this 'goodie bag' and we both received a glass of Lambrini and made our entrance into the hall, after a quick scope of the stalls we decided to treat ourselves to a bacon sandwich for me and sausage sandwich for D which were delicious I have to say and then went to have a proper look at the stands. Unfortunately there weren't that many stands, I would say 25/30 max despite them advertising 40+, and most of these were photographers. We did see a really lovely stationary stand by Razzle Dazzle Rose which you can visit here, who are sending me out some samples in the post which I can't wait to receive. The only other stall that stood out to us was for a venue called The Pheasantry Brewery, giving us another place to add to our shortlist..
In total I think we only spent an hour at the fair and both left feeling a little bit disappointed, but excited at the prospect of new venues to consider. However, this hasn't put me off and I've pencilled in 2 more wedding fairs this month so I'm sure I'll update you on how they go as well!
Bye for now ✋👰
