Book Review: The Christmas Promise by Sue Moorcroft

'For Ava Blissham, it's going to be a Christmas to remember...'

This book is set in the streets of London and features the lives of Ava Blissham, a bespoke millinery artist struggling to attract customers, her housemate Izz and Izz's boss PR guru Sam Jermyn whom Izz has a massive crush on.

Their lives get entwined in this absorbing, fun loving and emotional story line which will keep you reading and not wanting to put the book down! Reading it on your lunch break is not a good choice as you WILL be late back to work 🙈 I found this out a couple of times....

I would rate this as a 4 🌟 book because the ending almost feels a little rushed and I would have loved to know more about the future and what happens for all the characters in the book rather than just a couple of them.

The blurb itself makes you want to pick up and read the book as it gives just enough insight ...

'On a snowy December evening, Sam Jermyn steps into the life of bespoke hat maker, Ava.
Sparks fly, and not necessarily the food ones.

Times are tough for Ava - she's struggling to make ends meet, her ex-boyfriend is a bully, and worst of all, its nearly Christmas.

So when Sam commissions Ava to make a hat for someone special, she makes a promise that will change her life.

She just doesn't know it yet....'

I would hands down recommend this book to anyone and it doesn't have to be read around Christmas just because it is set there as Sue Moorcroft has very cleverly focused more on the characters and the story rather than the season - it feels like the same story could be happening at any time of year and isn't restricted to the Christmas season - which for me was a really nice and genuine feeling for a book to have.

This book for me was a bargain as I managed to find it in the Works after Christmas sale for just £1, now ready to donate it to my local charity shop for others to sit back and enjoy to!!
